      yes!, it is right down Fairmont or Central (between those two streets) on San Pablo Ave.
      My mom used to be an usherette there in 1946, and allot of the pics you see in the CIties HIstorical society were dontated by her.
      My mom was also intereviewed by a UC berkeley

      she is on the bottom. Click on her picture to hear her interview...also, on my ID, the pic is of one of the murals...
      I also have pics in my photo album.
      If it is there, there is a pic of a bunch of kids sitting in the auditorium, my mom is in the front row, biting her nails. (she was probably about 10 years old there)
      we have been involved with the historical society etc in helping save the theater. I know my mom cant wait to go back in.
      Its great that the murals remained safe, since all that it was was a furniture storage room for Keifers ( a furniture store) next door. So they never altered anything on the walls....

    Our business, The Parkway Speakeasy Theater and the El Cerrito Speakeasy
    Theater, is a fun, fast-paced, popular work place; we offer health insurance
    benefits, vacation pay, movie and food perks.

    We are looking for employees that are at least 18 years of age, able to work
    the hours of 5pm to 1am, and sometimes willing to work until 3am on
    Saturday’s, must be available on weekends, willing to change the Marquee (not
    afraid of heights), and available to work 20-30 hours per week. Flexibility
    is a must! Willing and able to work some holidays that we may be open.
    Cashiering (good at math), food service and/or retail experience is a plus
    and we are really looking for friendly, energetic, and goal-oriented
    individuals. Must be good at multi-tasking and supervising experience is
    preferred if interested in management positions.

    We are opening a second theater in El Cerrito this Fall so please specify
    your theater of choice. If you are available to work at both please make a
    note of that as well.

    The job positions available include Cashier, Box Office, Floor/Runner, Bar
    Staff, Dishwasher, Manager, and Cook.
